Forest inventory – obtaining information about the forest and documenting it. (Forest Law, Section 1.14))
A forest inventory is necessary to be able to carry out economic activities in the forest. The forest owner is obliged to conduct a forest inventory in the forest he owns at least once every 20 years and submit its materials to the State Forest Service.
A forest management plan is developed based on a forest inventory. It includes additional information, ensuring that when planning forest management:
Maximum even and sustainable use of wood resources;
Preservation and enhancement of forest productivity and value;
Compliance with the requirements set out in the Forest Law and other regulatory enactments.

Stigma
Staging is necessary if, as a result of felling, the cross-sectional area of a forest stand or part of it decreases below the critical cross-sectional area. This is usually the case in clear-cutting or reconstructive felling. Paragraph 68 of the Cabinet of Ministers “Regulations on Felling Trees in Forests” No. 935 (18.12.2012) determines the requirements for the establishment of a felling. The boundaries of a felling are marked in the area in such a way that they are clearly visible. A clearly visible felling boundary in the area is a forest stand up to 20 years old, a clearing, land whose land use type is not forest, a boundary marker, a forest infrastructure object or a felling boundary marked in the area with paint, tape or a visual marker. The forest owner or legal possessor is responsible for ensuring that the felling boundaries comply with the sketch submitted to the State Forest Service.
Paragraph 72 states: “if due to damage (for example, windbreak, windbreak or snowdrift) it is not possible to measure the area of the area before the start of felling, the forest owner or legal possessor shall mark the growing trees bordering the felling with a durable paint. The felled area shall be measured and a sketch shall be prepared after the felling has been developed. The sketch shall be attached to the report on the volume of felled trees.”
When performing logging, the boundaries of the logging area are marked, and the edge lengths and azimuths are measured.
Delivery
Surveying is the measurement of the diameter of growing trees and their division into species and tree technical suitability categories or specific assortments. Surveying is necessary to determine the exact stock of timber in a felling. Surveying involves measuring all trees in a forest plot, measuring their diameter at a height of 1.3 meters above the root collar, and measuring the heights of the trees.
