Birch seedlings with improved root system

Birch saplings, which are on average one meter tall, are strong and durable, having been grown in the open field for a year in a nursery. Such saplings are especially recommended in areas with a potential for high greening, and allow for reduced agrotechnical care costs.

About the nursery

The “Latvijas Finieris” tree nursery “Zābaki” was founded in 1998 and was one of the first in the country to start producing birch container plants.

Production volume

Currently, the production volume has reached 1.3 - 1.5 million seedlings per year. The total area of the nursery's greenhouses covers 2,500 m2; the microclimate and automatic watering of seedlings are ensured by the latest IT technologies.

Landscape

The nursery is located in a picturesque location within the Gauja National Park. You can also see forest stands planted at different times, which not only shape the landscape and the history of the place, but also clearly demonstrate the dynamics of tree growth.
