SIA “VILSA” produces and sells turned and peeled wooden logs.

About the stakes

Turned and peeled wooden stakes, which are treated with a rot-resistant agent for a longer service life, are mostly an integral part of an agricultural fence. The stakes are made of spruce and pine trees with one end pointed and the other chamfered to make it easier to embed the stake in the ground. But they can also be ordered according to your needs, both ends straight, chamfered, etc. Most sizes can be delivered sawn in half.

Each wooden pole is made from one whole tree trunk, with a core in the middle. This means that longitudinal cracks may occur as the pole dries naturally or industrially (in drying chambers). This is a natural process that does not affect the technical durability and quality of the pole.

Application

Turned and peeled stakes are used for fences, pastures, agricultural enclosures, garden purposes, bank reinforcements, tree planting reinforcements, as well as for various other economic activities.

SIA “VILSA” provides timber drying services.

We offer

SIA “Vilsa” has been engaged in timber drying since 2015.
It is possible to dry timber simultaneously in three chambers, with a total capacity of 180-220 m3.

Maximum material length 7.0 m.

Required packaging – timber must be packed in bundles, measuring 1.15*1.15 m, and packed on spacers, no less than 20 mm thick.

The full drying cycle, up to 18% moisture content, takes 5-10 days.

The duration of the cycle cannot be precisely determined in advance, as it depends on various wood parameters:

  • wood structure and density,
  • material thickness,
  • initial humidity, etc.

Wood may crack and warp during drying; this is a natural process and cannot be avoided.

Timber drying

Drying timber is a standard process in woodworking factories to reduce the moisture level in wood, which fully allows for further processing of the materials.

By artificially drying wood in special chambers, the desired moisture level can be achieved in an incomparably shorter period of time than when wood is dried naturally.

The wood dryer operates in automatic mode. The moisture evaporates from the wood under the influence of hot air flow in the drying chamber.

The air flow temperature and humidity are electronically controlled during the process. The air flow inside the chamber is provided by special fans.

The heat supply in the drying chamber is provided by heaters, while air exchange in the chamber occurs through air exchange hatches. The humidity level in the drying chamber is provided by an injection system.
